The District Collector is entrusted with a wide range of duties in the jurisdiction of the district. While the actual extant of the responsibilities as Collector and District Magistrate are Land assessment, Land acquisition, Collection of land revenue, Maintenance of law and order, Supervision of the police and jails Supervision of subordinate Executive magistracy, Hearing cases under the preventive section of the Criminal Procedure Code, Supervision of jails and certification of execution of capital sentences, Disaster management during natural calamities such as floods, famines or epidemics, Crisis management during riots or external aggression, Chairman of the District Rural Development Agency, which carries out various developmental activities.

  • Time bound delivery of essential services to the citizens of the district.
  • To play a key role as a coordinator of all the government offices of the district.
  • To strive for efficient, transparent and citizen centric administration with the use of latest technologies available.
  • To resolve the issues related to land and to preserve and nurture all the government assets.
