Key Functions


  • The Maintenance and Welfare appeals of Senior Citizen Act are tried by The District Magistrate.
  • Release of grant for Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Cash Assistance to infirm and aged persons (Antyodya) scheme and National Benefit Schemes.
  • Monitoring of all the schemes
  • Receiving complaints from beneficiaries regarding delayed payment or related to any other matter.
  • Clearance of CM reference, MLA reference, starred and Unstarred questions regarding these schemes.

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme


Brief Introduction

  • It was launched by Ministry of Rural Development. All persons of 60 years and above (revised downwards from 65 in 2011) and belonging to below the poverty line category according to the criteria prescribed by the Government of India time to time, are eligible to be a beneficiary of the scheme. It is a part of National Social Assistance Program (NSAP).

Features of Scheme

  • Member of BPL family aged 60 or above, get the amount of 400/month and aged 80 or above get the amount of 700/month.

  • BPL Score card rated 0-16.
  • Address proof.
  • Age proof.
  • Citizenship proof.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The beneficiary should have BPL score card rate 0-16.
  • The beneficiary should be the citizen of India.
  • The beneficiary should be 60 or above.

 

National Family Benefit Scheme


Brief Introduction

  • The NFBS provides a lump sum family benefit of Rs. 20000 to the bereaved household in case of death of the primary bread winner irrespective of the cause of death. This scheme is applicable to all the eligible persons in the age group of 18-64. Attempt had been made to evaluate the efficiency of the scheme with the help of the field survey.

Features of Scheme

  • If the main earning member of BPL family dies naturally or in an accident, his/her family will get Rs. 20,000/- during one month of application.

  • BPL Score card.
  • Address proof.
  • Proof that he/she is the main earning member.
  • Citizenship proof.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The beneficiary should have BPL score card.
  • The beneficiary should be the citizen of India.

 

Cash Assistance to infirm & Aged Persons (Antyodaya) Scheme


Brief Introduction

  • This scheme is state government Scheme. The beneficiary is not only BPL, but all the beneficiaries are economically support less.

Features of Scheme

  • The beneficiary will get 200/- per month.

Documents

  • Family chart which shows he/she is not having adult (insane) son.
  • Address proof.

  • The beneficiary should be economically support less.

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme


Brief Introduction

  • It was launched by Ministry of Rural Development. All widows aged 18 or above and belonging to below the poverty line category according to the criteria prescribed by the Government of India time to time, are eligible to be a beneficiary of the scheme. It is a part of National Social Assistance Program (NSAP).

Features of Scheme

  • Widow from BPL family aged 18 or above, get the amount of 700/- per month till she gets remarried or her son attend the age of 21.
